I have a friend that is toying with the idea of selling his 2015 GT3.
Wondering what you think this is worth?
The car has 2000 miles +/-, full leather (white stitching), axle lift, LWB's, and some other cool interior options. Has Nav and sound plus... For whatever that is worth...
Paint is GT silver. No PCCB's. Headlights are standard. No LED.
Take a look. I've driven it and can say it is one fantastic machine. This pic from when he brought it over earlier this year and I took it for a spin.
Looks like a nicely spec'ed car. It would depend on whether you like LWB's, the color combo, and the price. Most are selling for msrp or above. If I were you I would wait and see if you can get a 2016 allocation, unless you can get this one for $5k or more under msrp.
I'm sure you trust your friend about the car. If it's in good shape I would buy it if you're happy with the options. As you already know, the car is amazing.
OCturbo - Would there be any differences between a '16 other than maybe a steering wheel upgrade to look like the Cayenne, GT4?
Overall, it is a nice spec car and is a blast to drive. Only drawback would be the sound system sucks, but hey, it's the "enthusiast" car right?
The owner is a friend of mine and would be fair to me. LWB seats are pretty stellar!
No other changes for 16. It's just nice to spec your car exactly how you want it (if u can get an allocation). It sounds like u like the cars specs/color and can get it for a good price - go for it and u can enjoy it this summer!
Only thing I would do above and beyond would have been PCCB, but not sure if you really need it on the GT3. The big red's look different on the 991 GT3 than the standard 991 S.
I have PCCB on my '13 Boxster S, and it looks great, but from what I have read, tracking results in nearly immediate replacement.
Unless you have a very close relationship with your dealer you probably can't get a 16 allocation. If you like the LWBs only a few '15s had them. If you like the car and spec buy it.
Great color combo with buckets and lift. IMO, PCCBs and LEDs are overrated (I would not pay extra for LEDs and I actually would not want PCCBs, though others feel differently, of course). Hopefully it has the extended tank, though not a deal-breaker if not. If the price is at or near MSRP, hard to pass on this car from a presumably trusted source.
IMO, he'd be doing you a favor if he sold it to you at his buy price and MSRP. Trade-in prices are very strong at present and will remain so for the near future.
Buy the car from your friend! You'll be glad you did. Anything at MSRP or less is a definitely buy!
+1. This car will get $10K over from a dealer all day long so anything close to MSRP is a good deal for both sides. I highly doubt that you will find 16 allocation. There were very few and I believer they have all been handed out. Finally, you know the car so there are no surprises. I would grab it if you are seriously looking.
