2015 porsche turbo s vs 2015 gt3
check out this link. specifically the end where they concourse track the turbo S and it crushes the time for the Gt3 and speciale!
I always thought that on a straightway the turbo wins but concourse goes to the gt3 with all of its "racing", weight saving" features but apparently that is not the case.
So that said what is the advantage of the GT3 short of the fact that it is naturally aspirated if it is both slower in the straightway and concourse track?? Im pretty sure the turbo S crushes the the 2015 gt3 RS as well.
fyi i have a gt3 and scud.
looking forward to anyones insights!

Believe it still comes down to enjoyment, thrill to drive, NA delivery vs Turbo. The feel of a lighter car, the wear on the brakes and tires, less fading lap after lap and consistency.
There are cars faster than a GT3 for less money. Z06 can be, especially with some mods, viper, especially the ACR viper. But most don't buy the GT3 for plain old bragging rights.
I know plenty of 996TT at my track that have a few mods and Hoosier and rape the Gt3s. It's just a different approach

Yes but the speciale generally outperforms the Gt3 and the turbo crushed the Speciale!
if this is the case why can't porsche indulge us with a turbo s gt3 to crush them all, and i'm not talking about the 918 for 1 million bucks!

The Turbo S is a total freak of nature. I still prefer the feel and even the sound of the gt3 but if it's speed you're looking for, turbo s is where to go. IMO you have to be a very skilled driver to get the most out of the Gt3 on the track, Turbo S, albeit a fuller car, always seemed easier to drive fast

In the AutoCar track comparison of the Speciale, 650s and GT3 (
) the GT3 trailed the Speciale by 1.20 seconds around Castle Comb. The Turbo S was .6 faster than the Speciale in this comparison at Anglesey, so I think its safe to say that the Turbo S will best the GT3 in terms of all out performance. That said, the look, feel, sound and emotion of the Turbo S cannot be compared to the GT3 (IMHO of course). Different cars with different purposes. In addition, the average Turbo S is probably $40 - 50K more than a GT3. So, the GT3 still wins! :-)

can almost understand the turbo s being faster than the gt3... what with almost 90 more hp...
but it would be a bit mind boggling if it turns out to be even quicker than the gt3rs as well.... not to mention embarrassing, for the rs owner?

Someone brought a brand new Turbo S to a DE at my local track this past weekend. It's really a striking car. Sounds like a giant vacuum cleaner when accelerating down the straight. Incredible acceleration. I'd still take a GT3 for driving enjoyment, but I can see the appeal of monster torque and the broad range of usability offered by the Turbo.

Current Turbos are wicked fast but I have zero interest them. Country club cars vs Motorsports pedigree cars. Every time I see one it's navy blue with a tan interior. Yuck. IMO.
