Question Oil change after break-in period?

Is it recommended that an oil change be done after the break-in period? I'm around 1,000 miles so I'm thinking that I should get it done. Thoughts?

It can never hurt to change oil. I'm at 2300 miles didn't change, but I broke my car in after 350 miles so I'm sure you will get a plethora of opinions. I've also added two quarts since November, and it's the same for some who have babied the car. All the best n

Nothing official with regard to a post break-in oil change AFAIK, but I did one at 1500 miles before my first autocross. I think most who do an analysis of their oil find byproducts of the break in process. FWIW, I like the idea of a fresh clean fill before really stressing the engine for the first time. As an aside, I haven't had to add oil since my change, 4 autocrosses and 2.5K miles ago.

We got our cars from the east coast about the same time and we have about 1000 miles on at the same time. I'm changing the oil this weekend and then it's time to get this party started!! No more 4200 RPM crap.

I did an oil change at 1700 miles at the rec of my Porsche mechanic just before I drove to COTA and tracked the car (at 1950 miles!)

I changed mine after break in and every five to six track days. It's cheap piece of mind.

I had my first change at 3,000 miles. Up to that point, I had only added a total of 200ml.

I always do a 1,000 mile break in oil change and Blackstone UOA. Running Mobil 5W50 now. Never needs oil between changes. Change very 5,000 miles.

I changed mine at 1000 miles and filled with Motul 5W-40 X-cess. Oil analysis showed nothing to worry about. Going to Mid-Ohio this weekend and I'll pull a sample for analysis when I get back. The car will have about 3300 miles when I get back.

Prior experience in other Porsches. Slightly higher zinc and phosphorus, better additive package, better high shear stability. All compared against Mobil 0W40. And Porsche approved. In my 2014 C2S PowerKit.

Motul is a great choice.

I put in Motul 300V 0W40 in my GT-R and I did see a slight reduction in engine temps at the track with it.

this is my first Porsche, so I don't know how fussy the dealers are over non-OEM approved fluids.

Pretty sure the Motul 5W-40 X-cess is Porsche approved.
