Drive temperature too high. Reduce load

Tried the launch control for the first time. The gearbox was in M and I did not change the gear myself. The reason was that I thought that it would change the gear itself even if you launch it in M (I come from BMW M3 and this is how it works there).
RPM reached 9000 for a second or two and then power was cut and the yellow message "Drive temp too high. Reduce load" was displayed. The message disappeared shortly after and all went back to normal.
Do I have a reason to worry? Shall I do some check or change the transmission oil?
P.S. The car launches like a space ship! It is not a stupid burn-out launch control like in BMW case. It has some super smart logic that gets maximum grip and performance for a given road surface. Amazing

I wouldn't worry too much about it. That's what the rev limiter is for, although you gave it a pretty good test. Even if you discover that you recorded a minor over-rev, what are you going to be able to do about it?
You experienced first hand what has been repeated here many times; in manual mode there are no automatic upshifts.

Thanks.
Actually I am not concerned about over revving. The limiter is there and works.
I thought about transmission oil that could have reached the temperature at which its lubricant properties downgrade drastically :/

I did something similar, minus launch control. Same experience with fuel cut but no tempe warning. When connected with PIWIS the DME showed 66 hits. That's 22 revs or about 0.15 sec. I haven't lost any sleep but I'll not repeat that situation.

Correct Jim, but coming from an M3 (must be in manual for LC), as long as you are past 60% throttle from the time LC program is active, it will shift for you. If you lift off the throttle past 60% you have to shift your self. As you know in the GT3 it's manual it's manual regardless. LC programming is different for some manufacturers.

I don't think you have any worries there. The clutch oil is designed for a 6 year/48K mile change interval and the gearbox fluid for 12 years and 96K miles. One heat warning event isn't going to have any effect.

I tried LC with 1000km on the odometer. My dealer emphasised to be careful with the brakes and tires for the first kms and take the car easy for the first 1000km. Confirmed that 4200rpm is a BS only for US where you can sue anybody for anything. Same with child seat and buckets.
Anyway thanks for your replies. Happy driving!
