Wind Deflector/ Buffeting Problem
#77
Those that had the real bad noise / vibration did you get it with both windows open or with just the drivers open? I bought the FVD deflectors and decided to install at the track but didn't need to as the noise wasn't that bad to me but I had both windows fully open.
I know I'm probably not hitting the speeds some of you guys are but pretty certain I was 120-130mph range on the straights at Thunderhill.

I went with the blackmill deflectors. I wanted to do back to back comparison to see the difference. So did one session without them at COTA and buffeting was bad T11-12 (of course). Put them on for the next session and it was much better. Most groups require both windows down here.

I've had the AWE installed since Jan of this year. I've been very happy with the effectiveness of the product. I forget that I have them installed. I think the appearance works. Most people don't even notice unless they are looking closely.

Wind Deflector/ Buffeting Problem
^^^. No issues with buffeting with AWE on and both windows down. Have the Smokin'GTS solution as backup. One of the AWE needed some Dremel work to get proper fitment on the hook side.

Got mine today, look pretty much like everyone elses on here. I'll probably try to install them during the weekend. I also have some black vinyl wrap I was going to try on the lower mirror section

Left side went on pretty well and looks good. Tight fitting.
Right side kind of sucks, I guess this is why you had to dremel yours? There is no way to get it down far enough to sit correctly.
It would have been nice if they molded some threading into the CF, you have to get that sheet metal screw into the CF pretty tight for it to hold it right. Coming from my experience with CF bike parts, I am surprised it didn't shatter.

Just installed mine today and same problem. Manufacturing on the right one is very poor and had to dermal slot where the top clip fits and lower pointed area slightly to get it closer. Still doesn't fit as good as the left as all I did to it was to dermal some of the rougher edges and it fit good the first try.
I installed the right side first after looking at your posting and it took 3 times as long to dermal and fit multiple tries.
My left side now looks like yours; even the red surrounding it. Right side acceptable at best.

The CF looks pretty good there and blends well with my CF buckets, I think. Anyway I went hiking out in Malibu today and walking back to my car the sun was on the CF, it lit up quite a bit and stood out, looks great in the shade though. Maybe a shot of plastidip is the solution.
