Default Front Grill Refurbishing

Anyone have suggestions about repainting the front grill. Is it easy to remove? Also what is the paint color code? Its taking a beating. This is from seven track days.

Funny, was just talking about this today with my dealer - mine has same issue. I am going to paint mine too - maybe touch up? Have to ask my body shop. I asked about the part (center grille) and it is $180 or so, before discount. Will probably start with touch up and see how that works. If not, will get another grille and swap it out and paint this one, so I have a spare...not sure. Thoughts?

I wonder how it would look painted red on a white car

So many here may say plastic dip ?

Have never used plastidip but I assume it's more viscous than paint, goes on thicker, and might reduce airflow. Unless you're kidding, in which case, never mind....

Depending on how hard the grill is to get off, I might consider masking everything off really well and touch it up with spray paint.

I'm sure replacing the grills would require front bumper removal.

I believe it requires a bumper removal to remove the center grill.:-(

Thanks for the suggestions. Yes, I might just get the touch up paint and do it by hand. I wonder what color code would work best? The color is close to the OEM wheel color. I discussed the plastidip with a few people. It seems like it would be too thick and will probably chip off pretty quick, just like the paint. Also thought it would be hard to spray paint it in place, perhaps getting paint on the radiator.

Default Before and After Mesh Grill Touch Up

I guessed about the color for touching up the front grill, ended up ordering Meteor Gray Metallic M7W/9Q by eye balling it. Ended up turning out pretty well, although it took a little over an hour to use the tiny touch up brush!

This is very strange. I looked at my front grill, and it's looking much better than yours before touch up, and I have 8K miles on track and back roads.

My wheels, on the other hand, look like they have survived multiple rally seasons.

Looks like Porsche has issues with consistency of the painting process.

Maybe time to move up to advance group to avoid those slow ones from kicking up so much debris on to your grill by not giving you a point by.

Replaced all 3 grilles on my RS from track usage... Around $450
Could have easily just sprayed them. We pulled the bumper and had to re glue them back in so I suggest try and go after warranty or pull bumper and re spray...
