Same in Louisiana. 93 Octane with "no ethanol" everywhere.

We fill only 100 octanes here
Also GT3 userguide says no less than 98 octanes (like in my 991 c4s)

European octane ratings are not the same as in the U.S. Different formula used for the calculation.

Consider using Sunoco 260 GTX unleaded and EtOH-free (98octane) gas for your winter storage, at least ... to make sure you have no phase separation during the winter months. There's one heating company locally that sells this from a large storage tank on its premises, at $8.25/gallon. Otherwise you'll pay $15-16/gallon in 5-gallon jugs.

I use this gas for weekly fill-up if ... however, this company (a heating and cooling company) is located 45 minutes away (i.e. NOT available at local gas station). It's a nuisance that it's not located too conveniently and that it's pricey. If I'm unable to fill up with GTX think it's a must to use stabilizer ..

That's hard to believe. Shell for sure is Top Tier gas, not sure about Mobil, but I think it is. If you go to Top Tier's website and read the requirements to be a Top Tier gas retailer, you will see that ALL stations selling the brand must sell Top Tier fuel. If you read the specifications for the formulation of Top Tier fuel, ethanol is listed as a required "ingredient." Maybe I misses something, but that is the way it appears to me.

1.3.1.2 Base Fuel. The base fuel shall conform to ASTM D 4814 and shall contain commercial fuel grade ethanol conforming to ASTM D 4806. All gasoline blend stocks used to formulate the base fuel shall be representative of normal U.S. refinery operations and shall be derived from conversion units downstream of distillation. Butanes and pentanes are allowed for vapor pressure adjustment. The use of chemical streams is prohibited. The base fuel shall have the following specific properties after the addition of ethanol:

Contain enough denatured ethanol such that the actual ethanol content is no less than 8.0 and no more than 10.0 volume percent.
Contain no less than 8 volume percent olefins. At least 75% of the olefins shall be derived from FCC gasoline as defined by CARB (advisory letter, April 19, 2001).
Contain no less than 28 volume percent aromatics as measured by ASTM D 1319 or D 5580.
Contain no less than 24 mg/kg sulfur as measured by ASTM D 2622 or D 5453. At least 60% of the sulfur shall be derived from FCC blend stock.
Produce a 90% evaporation distillation temperature no less than 290F. as measured by ASTM D 86.
Produce IVD no less than 500 mg averaged over all intake valves.

Regarding that puregas website, who does the analysis on the fuel that is claimed to be ethanol free?

I live in the south, and never find ethanol free fuel at Shell stations.

Have you tested any of them for ethanol with a test kit?

Check with a test kit. Easy to do. Kits cost about $30. All you need is fuel, water, dye and a graduated cylinder.

After putting the StaBil in, should I run the car a bit or just put into the fuel tank prior to putting car cover on after parking it for the winter?

Yes, run motor for about 10 minutes to cycle the now stabilized fuel throughout the entire system.

Next year, add the StaBil to your last fill-up of the year and drive home.
