Agreed !!! Unfortunately, I'm just one of those types who decided to follow Porsche's "overkill" recommendations. It's all good now, and the car has run perfectly from day one ! She'll get her first track thrashing in a couple of weeks.

Was at Thunderhill Raceway Park yesterday and there was a GT3 with temporary tags, so I new it was new. Talked to the owner (my car hasn't arrived yet so I wanted to try out his LWB) and asked how many miles he had on it? 500 miles.

It is important to raise the RPM in gradual increments like 6000 then 7000 then to 8000 then to redline over few hundred miles. This is more important than the magical 2000 miles. Even if you reached the 2000 miles and have not already done so and kept it below 5000 RPM, try to gradually take it to the magical 9000 RPM. Enjoy it bud. Mark

Thanks....definitely will do that !! I'll ease the revs up incrementally over the next three weeks. It sounds so good between 4,500 and 6,000, I can't imagine what 9,000 will be like.

Adding more revs gradually as mqandil suggests is important. AP has a great quote about breaking in GT3's. I need to dig that up. The work should be done by 1000.
The thing that seems crazy about the 2000 mile recommendation is it is only in the US manual. All the other parts of the world don't get that suggestion. So it would seem it's basically just to learn the car.
Anyway, enjoy that beast!

2000 Mile Warning Not Executed
It's to avoid this! Lawyer clause for foolish people.
