Default Tesla's "launch control"

I'm sure you've probably seen this but I think I like "insane" mode better than launch mode!!! Must be pretty spooky hitting 60 in just over 3 secs with no / very little noise. Give me the noise any day!!

I owned a P85+. It's fun to do those launches, but quickly the novelty wore off. Also, having no sound ultimately made me sell the car.

Did you suffer from the e-car issue of "range anxiety"?!?!?

I'll second the novelty wearing off quickly. Range anxiety is real. I left Nashville where it was 28 degrees outside with 260 miles of range on my way to Chattanooga(only 140 miles away). Arrived at the Chattanooga Super Charging station with 40 miles of range left.

Tesla representative told me to drive without the heater on and I would have no problem making it. Needless to say I had the heater on.

Funny part is you do. IF you even think about going out of town, you really have to plan, where to charge when you arrive, where to charge on the way (even supercharger), etc.

I waited longer for the car to arrive than the time I owned it. Sold it with a month and lost my a$$ on resale. Never again.

Now they are a dime a dozen in Austin. Completely boring.

2 questions come to mind when I watched that video:

1.) How many beers would it truly take for me to want to bang the first chick he gave a ride to?

2.) Why does a 4-door luxury/family sedan that is made to 'save the Earth' need 691hp? I'm never one to question one's desire for horsepower, but isn't it just a waste of efficiency & range to allow the batteries to provide the electric motors with that much energy? Laws of thermodynamics and such...takes the same amount of energy/kilowatts to move mass x speed, etc... Same question why most HondaAcuraToyotaCamryHybrids offer 300+ bhp V6's when they would do just as well with their 4 cylinder versions for 99.9999 percent of their owners. It's like all those 'mainstream' car companies out there that like to promote the 'eco' lie, but can't stop advertising their newest toaster that is "sporty & fun." /Rant.

I'm sure I could get a real answer to number 2 if I hung out on some Tesla forum, but I don't have the time or desire. Blah.

All ev cars are good for city driving. That's it. You don't need to go 0-60 mph in 3 seconds in a city. Limited range as a long distance driver. Finding charging stations is just as frustrating as "Finding Waldo". Go small with size with ev cars parkingwise for big cities. Mike

Going fast without being able to hear the engine is like going to the opera and not being able to hear the singers. I'd feel shortchanged.

I need sound.

Just like Formula E is stupid, change cars mid race? WTF!

Anything that can't be refueled in 5 minutes isn't transportation.
