People keep claiming this, but your car not selling seems to support the counter point, no?

I'm an owner, don't get me wrong, I'm not looking to sell mine now, but if I can get out of it when it's 6 months old and only be down $20k ('15 with LWBs), I'll be happy.

GT3s aren't that limited and there a lot of new '15s available and more on their way.

In 6 months, the car is yesterdays star and forgotten about by the media.

Don't care what media thinks--I care about what drivers think

Drivers buy cars, not the media.

^this. The "newest & coolest" circus never stops moving, asking and getting msrp+20% for the new "best ever" that will "never depreciate".

Soon after the remainder of 2015's have been delivered, I predict we'll see far less used examples available. End of the day, this is still a
low production car. Same thing happened with the .2 3/RS. Even before the iconic Mezger/Manual gearbox became sought after, these cars were in short supply.

The 991 GT3 doesn't really fit in the 'latest and greatest' box, imho. It is the latest and greatness, but it's not one trick pony.

IMHO. It will all depends on RS and Gt4. All the following will be favorable for current gt3 owners:
1. RS production is very limited
2. RS price close to 175 base
3. Gt4 price close to Gt3

It will depend much more on SP500.

Agree.

And I'll add many GT3 owners will not be RS buyers as they are not hard core trackers. RS will probably (TBD) not be anywhere close to a DD. After the 918 crew strip what they want, then the pure track guys will be fighting for the RS allocations.

The rest of us will be enjoying the best of both worlds...well at least I will

In the Porsche Only buyers yes, 2015 is shaping up to be the year of the driver's car. Too many choices to list coming out, I'm now up to 6 deposits...

It's pretty much a given that I'm going to trade/sell my GT3. My back pocket hopes you guys are correct

I could have sold it for $135,000 the very first day. I have $144,000 in the car. I am not desperate to sell it.

FWIW, I have listed for $140,000. In the past couple of days I have been driving it and each minute in the car tells me not to give it up. Presently, I am very hesitant to sell it.

That said, if the price is right I would consider.

I think it depends on what's meant by 'hard core tracker'. For someone planning to do a lot of track days but not wanting slicks, dealing with trailering, etc., the GT3 can be a good choice. For someone wanting a truly track-focused car, a race car could make more sense than the RS. I see the RS as filling roughly the same role as the GT3, but targeted at a buyer with sufficient funds to be comfortable driving a car costing close to $200K on the road and track.
