Thank you so much for 5 minutes of some of the best daydreaming possible! Your review really made the car come alive in my imagination. I'm looking forward to my car more than ever now.

Very nice narrative! I am jealous of it all but especially the PDK. I am planning a trip to the three sisters in my 964 April 10-12. If I see you in the rear view I will be sure and get out of the way!

A couple additional comments, thinking about anything I missed, after a sunrise hill country drive this morning...
- louder in the cabin than my 2011 gt3, this was unexpected
- analog and digital all at the same time
- I still say the ride is rougher/firmer than the last GT3, especially in sport suspension mode, but there are lots of variables here, and I guess a personal thing. I am running factory pressures on my tires.
You will need to go back to a 993 or earlier to pick up something that this car is missing. I just think that this renders everything in between null and void. It doesn't have a stick, but it is still so mechanical and special, and the PDK-S shifting is so cup car like (have done a parade lap riding in one, have never driven one), that you will not miss the stick from the previous GT3. If it makes sense, let me put it this way, this car is so much better than any modern Porsche that I have driven, the "stick" argument just doesn't hold water. Now, go drive an air cooled Porsche, the older the better, and there is definitely an "experience" there, that you don't get in this car. But 996, 997, 991 - NA cars, turbo cars, etc., this just does everything they do so much better. I have never driven a 4.0, or a 997 GT2, so those could be exceptions, don't know.

Coming from a 2010 gt3 i remmember some places where i had to actually slow down due to the very hard suspension. The suspension on this car feels so much better even though it doesn't lean in corners so its stiff but the tyres always stick to the road in the rough areas(non-sport mode).
i chose the normal seats because they hold you pretty securely for non-track use, easier egress/ingress,adjustable back rest.
Oh and Great review!

Compared to my 2010 GT3 I find the ride a bit nicer in non sport with the 15. One thing I really don't miss about the manual transmission is getting stuck on a steep incline with a little old lady parked 6 inches off my bumper.

I totally agree with your comments about the PDK, it is really incredible, hard to believe. I have a 997.2 Turbo S, and it is perfect for managing all the power to the ground. Really a step change over MT I feel. Reminds me of my friend's Indy Lights car. You mention the high rev shift in Sport Plus. If I want to go fast on twisty roads, I put it in Sport Plus, manually upshift with paddle and let the computer figure out where to downshift. It always hits the perfect revs for the turn, 100% of time. Yeah, drives away from MT.
I am also looking for a 997.2 GT3 for an addition to the corral. The 991 is out of my budget, but if there were one thing to make me stretch for a 991 GT3, it would be the PDK. Oh well, someday...
