It looks to me that the connector gives you the impression it's made of 2 pieces but it's actually one piece. As far as I can tell and it makes sense,the white piece is a security clip so that the connector won't come undone from vibration. It looks to me you've managed to pull it out a bit,so push it back in,then pull white clip towards the back of the connector. Then press the little black tab that sits in the middle of the white clip down and try pulling the connector.
