First Drive in the Rain

I have PS4 in all my cars, even one car where the tires are more expensive than the car itself.
I was sold after a few years ago I saw the One Lap of America results on day 1 at the wet skid pad and the tires were pulling almost 0.9g in deep standing water. A week later they run the dry skid pad after having been in multiple time trials and thousands of transit miles, and the same used-up tires were pulling 1.3g.
For track use, switch to a better track tire than the MPSC2, for street use the MPSC2 cannot keep up with the P4S, to put heat on the MPSC2 at least in America, it means breaking every possible traffic law.

I don't mind the comments about loving to drive in the wet, and I get the 60% argument too, tossing the car around in a low grip environment is good stuff. What I find scary as all hell is straight line driving on the interstate and constantly trying to keep the rear behind the front.
I wonder why you say "constantly?" After the first instance, aren't you slowing, seeking a speed at which the problem goes away?

I find the Cup2s perfectly acceptable in even heavy rain, street or track. I agree with a prior poster that it depends heavily on what your prior experience is. I'm quite comfortable with a car sliding a little and expect movement going through standing water, all predictable enough. Maxx2 even better.

I had a friend's 991.1 GT3 for a couple of weeks back in February. Ended up having to drive home on the 405 and the 101 during rush hour in a downpour of cold rain. On a set of worn/hard PSC2. I drove her conservatively but I was still very wary about hydroplaning. That said, I never felt so much as a tug on the the steering wheel. As long as you don't blast through standing water you'll be fine.

I drove my GT4 with Cup 2’s often in the rain and thought they were great. I’m sure temperature makes a big difference and maybe at 40 degrees it’s a much different experience, but it rarely gets that cold in Houston. I’m guessing with the GT3 it’s going to be much more of a “things are great until they aren’t “ in the rain. I’ve put Supersport 4S’s on another car and they have phenomenal wet grip.
