991 GT3 vs. SRT viper on the street (video)
#2
As a multiple viper owner currently, my 991 GT3 doesn't stand a chance in straight line performance. On the track the GT3 is competitive, but there is no replacement for displacement. It does better than my previous 997 GT3, 996 GT3, and turbos.

It's at least 640HP/600Torque sure it will pull ahead. I will walk my 991 GT3 with my Viper ACR and it has a ton of aero drag.

Lot's of unknown variables; hard to know how significant that result is outside of the fact that street racing is stupid and dangerous.
FWIW, when Car and Driver tested for their performance car of the year they timed the GT3 in 3.1 to 60 and 11.3 @ 123.4 in the 1/4, while the SRT TA did 3.4 and 11.6 @ 126.7. The Viper may have an advantage under certain conditions but to say the Porsche doesn't stand a chance in a straight line is not borne out by the objective numbers.

I currently have a tuned RS7 and am thinking of maybe swapping it for the MC. I know the MC is slower but speed is not the only part of the driving experience.

And so does the Z06, yet the GT3 posts very similar straight line performance numbers. A race through traffic only reflects the IQ numbers of the drivers.

OT but I just read in your sig that you have the Mas MC.... whats your thoughts on that car in a apples vs oranges compare to the GT3.

well, if it wasnt it would still be fair since the gt3 probably wasnt tuned either.
and that is another point. the vid said the viper was modded. and the gt3 was obviously stock since there are no mods for it that make power, as far as i know.
