It is my personal opinion based on close review of available published industry data that the Z06 which has approx 30% more Hp " 175 more ponys" and 8% more weight " approx. 250 lb" has not been able to outperform the 991 GT3 in any category except price, add to that the on track overheating issue that is yet to be addressed by GM, and you have an inferior track vehicle.

The only "winning" at an HPDE is driving home with the shiney side just as shiney as before the event.

This is just a better driver passing a slower one. I don't think you've hit the nail on that assertion.

This video was more to show how great this event is because you see all kinds of cool cars. Last year, I was proud to be considered the "unicorn" spotting, having a new GT3. This year, the Z06 was!
I can't speak to what the driver of the Z06 was doing and what his capacity is? What I can say is that on the straights, I wasn't really catching him. Then again, I was coming out of the pits from a tire pressure check and wasn't driving hard, so I was in fact "leaving a lot on the table." (I'm going to be posting a few other runs where I'm letting it all hang out. There will be no excuses there.) Like I stated, it was just neat when I realized it was the new Z06. I thought at first it was another Stingray.
Deacon, you are a FAST "son of a gun." I'm glad we had the chance to meet. I overheard several seasoned "super solo" driver's commenting on how fast you were (hoping they were talking about me, but no. It was you they were talking about.)
BTW, i see you updated your avatar, you sandbagger.

I actually did...I have clearly indicated that this is my personal conclusion regarding both vehicles. I have very closely followed all the testing and updates on the Z06 and had a deposit on a Z06 so by the time I got the call last month to Spec my allocation It was very clear to me from what I have seen that it is inferior to a 991 Gt3 for track use so I decided to get a 991 GT3. I am still waiting to see how GM will, if ever resolve the overheating issue with a OE sloution
