Default SW bypass - the video that put me over the edge

Maybe this has been posted. Maybe it has been seen. Maybe it is a Rennlister. So sorry if a repost. But after reading a lot and seeing a lot, this was the video that put me over the edge. If you haven't seen it, and you are on the fence, make sure you watch the last 1/3 or so, for really good coverage of the sound. Also, VERY sweet looking SB car. Makes me think twice that maybe this was the color to get

As long as I can verify there is absolutely no power loss with this system, its going on my car. I already sent payment, but have several weeks to confirm that this is an audio impact only, easy on and off, no interference with any OEM equipment on car, etc.

https://rennlist.com/forums/991-gt3/...3-journal.html...set about an hour aside to go through the entire thread.

BTW, the sound is simply amazing versus stock.

I'm now sold as well (assuming no torque degradation).

Everyone that has it just says it's basically the same sound as stock but louder. I've done that in the past and am over that phase. When under 4k rpm, I prefer not to draw more attention to myself.

depends how you use the car...

for me, I only take it out on weekends for sunny fun driving, so I don't mind at all if its louder... I understand the philosophy about wanting a more sophisticated sound, but I don't want to mess with the existing flap buttons or replace mufflers, etc. I want to maintain very close to OEM stock (this "mod" is a big move for me :-)...

"Everyone that has it DOES'NT just say it's just louder"!
Research the topic on this forum first...
I have it installed - it is slightly louder, but it also has a deeper/lower tone and some additional rasp depending where you are in the rev range.

I'm a non-mod guy myself, but this one just sounds so fantastic at all RPM's.

I just ordered my SW bypass a few days ago as part of the RL group buy. If it's too loud or annoying, I can always just switch back to stock. The way I look at it, the PSE button will easily turn it back into a car that's not too loud. Best of both worlds.

I'm still torn. I will say every time my friend, in his MK1 GT3 with a Sharky bypass and me in my MK2 hit the mountains near Dahlonega for some fun runs, I'd have bypass envy.

I don't know whether it's because I came from an Aventador with exhaust but for me i wish the SW bypass was a bit louder.

To me it sounds slightly more aggressive than stock which can work with most people here but for me I wanted it to sound a bit more like a race car

That's me! I'm glad the video is somewhat helpful. Have you seen this one? It is a lot more fun.

It not really an exhaust system. It's a bypass that simply removes the third muffler. You might gain a HP or two and shouldn't lose any. If you like the factory note, you can't not like the bypass.

Problem in Cali, is that it rules out LS track days
