Wife and I do this. I like a $20 bill (might have to be more on the coasts?) for my Porsche, which may be overkill for a tip, but for my peace of mind, it's worth it. On way out, ten or twenty bucks. Fingers crossed, so far, so good....T

Just say NO to Valets!
When dealing with a valet, I'm always prepared with cash to get the job done without letting them drive or touch my car. Whether it's a $10 or $100 I don't care. I don't want a curbed wheel, a fondled car, or any damage.
Here's a photo I snapped at a Ferrari of Fort Lauderdale event. Oh they park Ferrari's they can park your Bentley right? Wrong!!!

Few years ago I had a situation while arriving at a Hotel in Aventura (Miami). I told the valet that I would park my wife's Panamera and he told me that it was not possible to anyone else get into their parking lot. I told him I have insurance and he could get into the passenger side. He insisted that no one could enter the parking lot. So, his "boss" came out and told me the same. "Well, we are leaving then... let me just speak with the front desk to cancel our reservation". At this point the "boss" told me I could drive the car to their parking lot and jumped into the passenger seat. I was polite all the time and I gave him a tip to make sure nothing would happen to the car while parked there.

I will eat somewhere else before giving my car to a valet. Just park it yourself a little further and walk. Any girl I'm with understands that or she's not the one!

Was just reading a Ferris Bueller horror story on one of the Lamborghini forums involving the W in Miami. Dude parked the car himself, but the valet insisted on keeping the keys. Next morning there was trash and cigarettes in the Lambo, and half a tank gone. These things do happen...

...and I was a valet when I was 18. I don't need stories like these to keep cars I care about away from valets.

Having known many guys who were valets in high school or college, simple answer; NFW, Ever. Ever. No. Not Gonna Happen.
"valet" is French for "your clutch was fried, the wing and front spoiler were already missing and the door all dented when you pulled in here, frack you very much. Your V1, and spare change, were already stolen, too"
