Here's the problem. Since you are already shopping, it probably means you're too far in to back out now. The only hope you have to get off this freight train is that they become no longer available.
I would say if you haven't driven one, you really need to find a way to get behind the wheel even if it's just a drive around the block. Hop a flight to FL, and I'll let you test mine out (as long as you stay below 35 mph
). You willl know in 15 seconds if you "have to have it."
You know my story, the stumbling of my C2S pushed me over the edge from the money lost side of the equation. Assuming yours is not stumbling and since you don't get the tax savings for trade-in like some states, I'm sure you could get more than the dealer is offering you for your super clean car. Just market the heck out of it, and I know you know how to take quality photos. Most will say you are asking too much, but I know I would pay a premium for a well taken care-of used car.
I'm sure you've already considered this, but order your GT3, work on selling your C2S private party, and work out a back-up trade-in with the dealer for your C2S. Shoot, just take possession of the GT3, and sell it if it shows up and you can't get out of your C2S economically. You'll have one of the last ones that show up and people that missed out will buy it from you in short order.
Good luck fighting the temptation. It is a better car, but certainly not $70K+ better.
