I'm hoping that it will be fun to drive without having to balance the car while traile braking, shifting etc.
I'm affraid it will be too easy..

Because the M5 is a boring car and the GT3 isn't.

Nick, haven't driven one either, hoping to at Winterfest or DM and 48hours at Sebring in a few weeks. Bring 991 out at me at least try that on track.

Think about this for a second. If Porsche had offered a MT for the 991 GT3, I'm wondering how many would of chosen it over the PDK? I'm sure there would of been many of argument on which was better, regardless of track lap times. For the ones who may have had the opportunity to drive both, it could of been an easy call, but for most others, the question would of been unknown. Anyways, we don't need to worry about it..... but it could of made for some interesting discussions.

If you are looking for the last 0.5s around your local track. PDK
If you enjoy weekend canyon runs and the feel of driving your car at a track. Manual or 997.1rs, 997.2rs, 996gt3!
I actually think PCA has nailed it with the 1gt3. Best dual purpose car there is. Hopefully the 991rs will be so uncomfortable so no one wants to DD it!!!!

This is equivalent to driving a manual Ford Fiesta and claiming manual transmissions are awful.
#55
And no, there is no equivalent statement about manual transmissions especially comparing a budget point A to point B car to high end sports car models.
As always to each his own, DCT or PDK, not as different as most think.

Yup. No difference in playing with paddles and getting nice quick reaction from the box in the BMW or the Porsche.

I had a GT3. Bought a C63 with automated manual, wasn't excited. Thought that I must have manual transmission. Bought another GT3. Then I bought a McLaren, and despite the flappy paddles, I'm very excited.
So, its not that I must have manual transmission, it was simply that the GT3 is a fantastic car, regardless of the transmission. Just like the McLaren.
For the record, I hate driving a certain manual X5. Except when I heel and toe it into corners and put it into a 4 wheel drift. This usually ends in my gf yelling at me that I'm trying to kill her car. Not good.
