Is this another "if the car doesn't have MT it's not a proper car thing"???
I understand the key is on the LHS because of the old Le Mans racing start so LHS was quicker to start car?
Just wondering why cars in excess of $100k don't even offer keyless entry and push button start as an option? Txs.

I always thought no one need keyless car until we got one. It is incredibly convinient.
Why it is not in gt3 - because VW knows they will sell it as it is with crazy margin for crazy price anyway.

Probably something to do with weight.

I personally like turning the key. To me it's just more emotional. However using your thumb print or voice to unlock and start the car would be cool, though I would still want an option to turn the key myself if I so choose.

I guess I'm one of those "new school" guys too. Honestly, keyless entry and start are EXTREMELY convenient. I simply leave the key in my pocket the entire day I'm out and about. Modern key fobs are pretty small so there's really no uncomfort when it's in my pocket and I'm driving. I'm assuming this is why some people would have the need to put their keys elsewhere in the cabin. I should caveat that I do keep my house key separate, but that's because I'm conditioned from riding motorcycles and not wanting keys flapping around and scratching the bike.

I had it in my loaner 911 and have it in my M5... I wish the 3 had it. I always grab the handle or of habit...
Also to the keyless haters... It still would have a key fob you have to turn, not a push button. Only, the fake key is perma-attached and your real key stays in the pocket

Lamenting no keyless start/entry? What about backup cameras, proximity sensors, massive stereo system, glass panorama sunroof, rear seats, and 4-wheel drive, all great conveniences. I think you are missing the point of the GT3. Porsche does offer those "acquired necessities" and more,...just order a turbo.

At least the GT3 has Homelink.
Something the 458 does not have.
Can you imagine carrying around a key and a garage door fob??
