Default GT3 rust warranty

since there were messages in the forum that the GT3 991 has only 3 years of rust protection warranty i checked with my dealer today (in austria). he told me that this was the case with the GT3 997 but he did not find the corresponding statement in the manual of the GT3 991. he then double-checked with PAG and the reply was the same 12 year long-time warranty applies to the GT3 as to all other porsche models. i am sure that this is valid all over the EC.

According to page 12 of my 2014 US warranty booklet, the GT3 is warrantied for 4 years against corrosion perforation.

Yes it was always in the warranty booklet and not in the manual.

Anyone notice that the window sticker doesn't say 4 yrs. It is for the full corrosion time (I don't have mine in front of me but 10 or 12 yrs). Right by the mpg area. With the window sticker specific to the car, I would bet one has a case of deceptive marketing. A good attorney could state that the potential owner was fooled by the window sticker.

Milehigh911 you are indeed correct. 4 yrs according to the warranty booklet, but 12 yr according to window sticker.

not that image, the last image is the window sticker.

It states 12 year 'corrosion perforation'. You would have to ignore a paint chip, ignore the chip after it progressed through the e coat, ignore it after it went through the zinc coating and then ignore the rust to get a hole. That's a lot of ignoring. We are not dealing with a car built from cold rolled carbon steel with a couple of coats of paint. The hem flange problems those cars suffered from are long gone.

That's standard for most car I think?

12 yrs is still better than 4...

I get that the manual states 4 years. Not denying that. BUT.....the window sticker is specific for the car it is put on. Every option, every standard feature, the tested MPG, blah, blah, blah, etc, etc It is there to fully inform the buyer what they are purchasing, sort of an "Informed consent" so to speak, mandated by the federal government. A potential buyer would never ask the salesman for the owners manual, so they can look through every page, looking for little details. In fact, you don't get the manual until after the purchase.
So, my point, is that Porsche has made a mistake, much like the "bait and switch" of the memory seats. I would bet an arbitraitor would come to the conclusion that Porsche would have to honor the 12 yr warranty, if the purchaser would claim that reading that specific information on the window sticker led them to make the decision to purchase the car, and they drove it every winter, in a salty cold state like Minnesota, never washing it, and subsequently experiencing perforated corrosion before 12 years.

Yes--far fetched, but it would be no different than Toyota putting a Prius's MPG on my Sequoia window sticker, then stating on some page in the manual that the Sequioa actually gets 13/18 MPG.

Although I store my car in the winter it would be nice to have a definitive clarification(sounds twisted).

I also wonder with the GT3 being lower than other variants that it may play in to the factor

i have confronted my dealer with the evidence from US spec cars. he still claims 12 years warranty for EC spec cars…..could be different from the US though.

Well, since the warranty booklet and the window sticker are in conflict, I guess it is going to take a call to PCNA to sort out which one is accurate. Either way, an error on one or the other has been made.

What specifically are people worrying about that the warranty would be an issue? Given it's an aluminium tub and plastic/aluminium body I just don't see the issue? If you look at all the exclusions on the warranty it's only for the body and has so many loopholes for PAG to jump through.
