Took My GT3 Delivery As Winter Hits

Nice looking wheels. I like the alcantera wheel -- just be careful to keep the grease monkeys away from it and it will hold up better than its reputation.
By the time I get mine in April, I won't even bother posting pics as everyone will be bored out of their minds with new GT3 deliveries. In the meantime, I enjoyed yours!

Great photos and background.
I ordered agate as well and for exactly the reason you stated: "Agate looks amazing, both slightly sinister as well as understated (if that's possible with this car)."

Welcome to Rennlist!!!
Thanks for the compliment. Car is a blast to drive, even with the snow tires.
Not too worried about a little weight difference. One person in the car with me far exceeds a couple pounds more per wheel. It was Porsche spec for the GT3, so I went with it.
I'm more concerned about the safety of driving in the winter, so the snow tires are more important to me. Won't be tracking the car in winter.

Now that's commitment to the RL community (from both your wife and you!). Most would be way too lazy to do that, and rather keep it tucked away in the garage.
The wheels really do add a nice sense of sophistication to the otherwise bold and aggressive GT3 silhouette. Well written initial reactions too.
Looks very close to the slate grey on my car. A color that I hope helps both of us avoid unwanted attention and speeding tickets.

^Thankfully the weather broke after eight straight days of snow post GT3 delivery. Have about 600 miles on now.
Still great to drive. First gear in manual is tough to keep under 4200 rpm. The engine spools up really fast. Can hardly wait until I'm screaming to 9000 in her. PDK shifts are lightning quick and sound delicious. I like the transmission rattling at low speeds/stop.
Cornering is very flat. Engine pulls reasonably good at the low end. Car is very fun to drive even at the meager levels *allowed* during break in.
Minor annoyances: Brakes squeal even though I've bedded them. Disappointed in the vinyl visors...should be the Alcantara. (Such a cheap move by Porsche.) Have the steering noise issue, and just incurred the thermostat error last night.
PPF will be applied next week (Xpel).

I'm a bit over 100 miles and notice substantial white smoke on start up. I heard the fog hornish sound that comes from turning wheels at stop. And, yeah, although I am breaking in slowly trying to keep under 4,200 there are occasional slips just shy of 5k. Also noticed that 4,200 RPM is 100 MPH in 7th gear.
PPF will be applied next week too.
Dan (is glad to know what is normal)
