Right after I got the car, I took to a trusted installer for paint protection film (X-PEL ultimate) covering the vulnerable areas, supplemented by application of C.QUARTZ nano ceramic coating of the entire car including the wheels. I have driven the car for more than 500 miles now, and I would like to share my preliminary observations on attributes of the car conceding that objective full assessment of car's performance may not be possible due to the mandated 2000-mile brake-in interval during which slightly less than 50% of maximal permissible RPM can be used (4200).

Despite the caveat , I must say that for far, it is an amazing and entertaining car

1. Engine is exceptional; the idle is lumpy, typical of GT3 engine. Above idle RPM, engine is smooth with a good linear power delivery

2. Throttle response is lightning quick.

2. PDK sport is outstanding; gear changes (up and down) are almost instantaneous (even in normal mode); I usually use the manual mode. I have no issues with those who wish for manual gearbox in this car.
In fact, I am very comfortable with toe-and-heal technique because I have been doing this for the past several years (2-3 decades) and I don't even think about it when I am doing this. Nevertheless for me PDK sport in GT3 is light years ahead of manual transmission, and I would not have hesitated for a moment to order the car with PDK even if it were an option. I would suggest that those who lament the demise of manual gearbox in GT3, they at least try the PDK sport (preferably after the brake-in period) before the blanket denunciation of Porsche and the buyers who choose PDK

3. Steering is wonderful, direct and very communicative even though it is electric. To the chagrin of Porsche traditionalists, it is certainly better than my 2007 997 turbo (with a manual transmission!!), or even better than my previous 2005 911 GT3 which I drove it for 8 years, or the unassisted steering of 1987 Carrera 3.2

4. Brakes and suspension: are flawless and second to none. I have standard cast iron disks.

Negatives: If you drive the car like grandma (LOW RPM, low speed) you will be disappointed; this can happen if, in normal mode, the transmission is in AUTO because of unusually rapid progression of upshifts ; the car is underpowered and there are unusual noises. (My service adviser has assured me that it is normal).

PTS: Voodoo (magic) blue is an unusual color. It is basically darker blue, but its shade, hue and intensity adapts considerably to ambient light; in sunlight it is light blue and in low ambient light it id much darker, hence voodoo
Two observations.

1. Interesting you managed to sneak in a PTS in the 2014 window as believe that was extremely short as pretty much coincided with the engine stop saga.
2. The camera setting nigh have played up completely as it looks positively Mexico (even Rivera) and not really like the shots I had seen.

3. I have a '15 voodoo coming to the UK and was hoping to have the only 991 gt3 in the colour in the world but you seem to have had the same idea ;-)

They should call that Woodie Blue.

Great looking car. One of my biggest regrets is that I couldn't do PTS.

Much better lighting than the first photo. Boy oh boy oh boy oh boy!!! Voodoo blue is the best colour ever. I love it, and would love to have ordered a GT3 in that colour. You must be over the moon! Congratulations!

BTW, here's another one, possibly also voodoo??? (I've been wrong before on colour!) Maybe maritime??? From autogespot. Looks like Czech plates. Anyone with Prague connections, please let us know if you can confirm. Anyway, enjoy!

Interested in the Czech car indeed. Would like to know the colour, doesn't seem "purple" enough to be maritime. But light and cameras often lie.
