I've posted this on another thread. No debt = fewer worries, better sleeps, greater pride in ownership, etc. In my long life have incurred debt (mistake). I prefer being debt-free.

The fact that you are asking about it in terms of income vs net worth is all you need to say.

Your Balance Sheet should support the purchase and you should look at the car as, most probably, costing you 3k per month to own in depreciation plus the interest if you borrow money. That is whether you pay cash or finance.

It's awesome that you have a great income at 27.... presumably a gross income of north of a million a year based on reverse math.

I have a Speciale on order now, just trading in 2014 458, my allocation just came in. Lower option car in Corsa with NART stripes. Probably $330 out the door or less. I will probably pay cash and would probably not buy it if that made any kind of dent in my financial position.

GT3RS also coming later this year, same deal there.

Best of luck to you!

Thanks man! What options did you order? I had blu nart, afs, lifter, parking sensor and camera, about 30,000 usd equavelent. I intially wanted less options but the dealership refused that

The reason I don't pay cash is I have safe investment plan to get at least 20% growth annually.

This is what I mean by saying "easily afford", please correct me you think I am spending too much.

Well, it seems you have plenty money and are not living beyond your means. Why is it even a question>>>>>> you already seem to understand money quite well and are killing it at 27.

Based on what I have read you probably should pass.

That is just my gut. Not questioning if you have the means but if you have to think this hard you probably have to make some compromises(future) to get it. So to drop ~ 360,000 on a toy you should not have to make any compromises. - just my $.02

if you are going to track, stick with the GT3/RS, and buy a 430 6spd.
if no track/DD, definitely the Speciale!

I am going to keep my GT3 no matter if I get Speciale. It's my DD and track car, love it. But I might probably not take the RS

If it does not feel right don't do it or you will hate the car. I have had 2 Ferraris, a 430 and a 458. I was always scared about wrecking them, putting too many miles on them and facing large chunks of depreciation, So I left them. I have a GT3 arriving in about a month. Though the GT3 is not a 458 it is a fraction of the cost and it won't drop much in value being they made so few of them.

Sure, the Speciale is a Ferrari that will hold value very well, but at $300,000+ I don't see the point in spending that money when you can drive a GT3 at less than half the cost and get say 85-90% of the performance of a Speciale.

Ferraris are great and all but they are a hassle to be honest. Excited to get back to Porsche, I had many in the past but have not owned one since my 997 Turbo back in 08.

I was offered one at MSRP a few months ago, but decided to pass. They're not sold out and I know people that have purchased them and already sold them back.

Have you actually asked the dealer if you can take his slot?....I can tell you that your scenario would not fly one bit at my dealer....not a chance....

Speciale is the only car I take instead of GT3/RS. Possibly the best combustion engine car to date.

Corsa/NART, yellow calipers, shields, alcantara upper zone, lower zone, seat centers, grey stitching, horse on headreast, floormats, AFS, fire ext, cruise. No lifter, no carbon anywhere, no cameras. Probably low $320 car.

The worry/hassle/budgeting dissappear when you actually have enough money to truly own something, which is the total cost of insurance, storage, long term maintenance, and potential repairs, not just the cost of acquistion. This is true for a 20K track toy all the way to a Gulfstream V.
