Default Winter maint - Opinion

Wanted to get input on this.

My gt3 has 1800 miles and has been in service for 2.5 months. No track time and very mild driving (tried to adhere to break in and was pretty successful). This is a no engine change car and never sat at dock. Getting ready to put away for winter. Car has been polished, sealed and it looks great. No issues to report on car. Running great. No smoke on start up but maybe once or twice.

Do I need to change oil or even get it back to dealer before I store it for 5 months. Plan would be to get to dealer once it came out of storage. Anyone have any thoughts of not doing anything until after winter which from a convience factor is preference.

Thanks.

Oil change always prior to storage, not after.

trickle charger
gas stabilizer
overinflate tires (50 pounds should do it)

AFAIK, If it's a 2014, the engine was changed at some point. And probably sat somewhere for a while.

I am sure correct but I was referring to it not being driven and then returned for change.

as indicated above:

trickle charger
gas stabilizer
overinflate tires (50 pounds should do it) ~ i think the manual reads 55-58 lbs, iircc.

And, I would change the oil before any extended storage.

Post #3 plus the oil change. If the car wasn't getting fully up to temp on short hops you do have the issue with condensate in the oil. Why not flush out the old oil and put in fresh oil. My 15 will show up in December. If I get the chance to go south and log 1000 mi. I'll change the oil and refill with Motul 8100 X-cess 5W-40. Hopefully I'll get a break in the weather with snow and salt cleared every 3 - 4 weeks to take it for a warm up and leg stretching while waiting on May.

No worries - makes sense. Every day that passes, I think less and less about the engine change.

that depends who you ask. will you ever know it wasn't done, probably not. however, why risk anything when it comes to car of this value. I always changed the oil in my garage just before winter storage.
