Hey all! I am still on my break-in period right around 1600 mile as of this posting. I have noticed that a few times that noticeable valve opening sound you hear around 4k rpm has a different tone. Usually the pitch climbs considerably higher but every now and then it is more base ier. If that makes any sense. Any if you guys know what I'm talking about or have any of you experienced the tone and pitch difference. Taking it one step further. The last time the sound felt off. I stopped and restarted the car and immediately the sound was back to normal. Any thoughts?

Sticky valve flap ? Seems there was a thread not too long ago about this very subject. I cannot remember the resolution other than a dealer service call is required.

There were a few cases of people whose cars had sat at port during the stop sale having issues with sticking flapper valves in the exhaust. Those are the valves that open or close to bypass the side mufflers and increase the exhaust note. Could be an issue with your car, even if it didn't sit in port.

Here is the thread where some were complaining about the issue.

After 3 trips to the dealer I finally gave up. Service could not duplicate the problem and all of a sudden no more sticky vales after about 800 miles. Hope it does not come back. I think we just need to rev it good if you know what I mean.
