Default Anyone Have an Air Conditioner Problem?

I hate to post up complaints. I'm hoping to possibly give my service department an idea of what is wrong. My A/C is doing some weird stuff. When I first start driving, I have it turned on but the fan isn't working. There is nothing coming out of the vents no matter what the fan speed is set to. Then all of a sudden it starts blowing like crazy. Then eventually it stops working again. So it's turning off and on and not responding to me turning the fan up or down. The weirdest thing is when I shut off the car, the fan gives a long blast of air then shuts off.

It seems to be more of an electrical issue rather than a problem with the compressor. When the fan does come on, it's blowing cold air. My Airbag light is on as well. I'm wondering if the airbag light and A/C are related.

After my C2S stumbler, I'm trying to be laid back and not care about little issues, but I'm having a tendency to blow things up in my mind. I start blowing things out of proportion thinking I'm going to have an electrical disaster. I keep telling myself to relax.

Anyone else have an A/C or electrical issue.?

Ummm, this sounds like an issue that needs to be addressed but to answer your question, no, I haven't had any issues. The fan takes several seconds before it starts blowing after starting the car but the rest of what you describe sounds off.

Sounds to me you are having a faulty blower motor resistor. All motors run full speed and it's the resistor that regulates different speeds. I believe Porsche now calls the resistor a " control unit ". You wouldn't be the only one experiencing this kind of problems :

I do not believe you are having electrical problems, the Airbag light might not be related. System voltage is vital in these cars,so not having the correct voltage can trigger a bunch of lights in your dash. Reading your other thread,I assume you drive the car often and did not let the battery drain somehow, correct?

This is probably a stupid suggestion but is your front defrost off. Defrost will override all inputs for air heat etc like I said probably stupid as they normally won't cycle but might be worth a shot

Thanks for the input all. I'm taking the the dealer to get it looked at. I'll be sure to post up the solution (fingers crossed).

Auto mode can behave exactly as the OP mentions, when you first start the car, fan almost not noticeable, then it goes full power to achieve the temp setting, once reached it calms and adjust accordingly. Switching Auto off gives you full control.

It's not on Auto. The thing is definitely messed up. I guess on the bright side, it's a perfect time a year to not have functioning A/C.
