I generally change the oil after 2k - 3k kms. Then every 5 or 6k kms.

I actually feel otherwise... It is the cheapest thing you can do to protect your engine. I change oil immediately after break in, and then twice as often as factory required. Send oil samples to Blackstone Labs consistently, as well.

Changed mine after first 2000 miles. Easy decision for $200.

I have a little over 1000 miles but will store my car on Dec 1st. Will change oil the week before Thanksgiving and, weather permitting, enjoy her for one final week and then she goes to sleep until April 1.
***It has been recommended to change oil before storage. So- oil will be changed once a year for me

At the 1,000 mile mark. And then every 5,000 miles. Mobil 5W50. Blackstone Labs UOA's.

Do you have any oil analysis reports on the 5w 50? I tend to go with Motul Exces 5w 40

Alan, not yet. Spring 2015 I will. In prior Porsches (Boxsters and Caymans) the results were excellent.

Here are the 991 C2S X51 UOA's from the factory fill and 2 from Joe Gibbs DT40 5W40.

Your Motol Excess is an excellent choice, too. Porsche approved to boot.
