Aftermarket exhaust questions and comparisons

Haha. I don't think I need it. Too much noise for me. But waiting to hear yours "just to make sure".

The crossover pipe introduces turbulence between the two cylinder banks, and further quiets the exhaust system. It is primarily used for sound. We have tried both types of exit pipes and prefer the sound without the crossover. This is why our pipe is designed in that way. The crossover does not enhance performance.

Rennlist Members,
Please allow us to chime in on this thread because we feel that it is important for everyone to understand why the dealership recommends the removal of the bumper. In our experience, the center muffler can be replaced without the removing the bumper and the heat shield. However, there is a risk of damaging the heat shield that surrounds the center muffler when doing so.
Over the past few months, the number of 991 GT3s have spiked considerably and we are seeing more of these come through the shop. We have noticed that some vehicles which have center sections installed at other shops have damaged heat shielding or have some signs of tampering. The procedure to remove the center muffler without removing the bumper and heat shield does require some prying away the primary side mufflers and heat shield to get the center muffler out. The factory center muffler is bulky and requires a bit of finesse to remove. Some technicians will use large screw drivers, or even pry bars, to accomplish this. While this may not be a deal breaker, we know that our customers can be extremely particular and sensitive about the attention to detail when work is performed on their new 991 GT3.
Although the factory center muffler can be removed with the bumper in place, it is ideal to remove the bumper and heat shield order to ensure that there will be no damage or any signs of tampering. With attention to detail being the one of the most important priorities at GMG, we try to minimize the risk of damage and not take shortcuts. We feel it is best to inform our customers of both options before proceeding and let our customers decide.
Please note that we install GMG parts as well as other brands at our facility in Orange County, California, and all Rennlist members are welcomed to stop by for a quick tour.
Here are few pictures of a recent install that we did that we would like to share:
