That's a good option too.
People need to step out of the 90's. A little extra weight is no longer a death sentence for trackability. Just like FI isn't anymire either. Everyone doesn't want a little car with pissant engine to spend the whole session with their arm out the window. Sometimes brute force is appropriate.
I like the pony cars. There is rumored to be a laguna seca version of the GT350 coming too. Is that what's pictured?

^^ leave it to wanna911.
Still on track is the main enemy as much as consumable prices.
But the Z28 needs the least aftermarket help of any other car on the market for track days that is fast. Fast as in well setup P car almost GT3 fast. Maybe it already is on fast tracks.
The Mustang looks promising if they make a Z28 version. Corvette non Z06 is good if you fit and fairly light, also manual..
Look forward to AMG GT (BS) weight but I thing MB has something to prove in overal quality and track worthy endurance.
All these cars are within a passenger weight of a GT3, 2 passengers in z28's case..

Buy slotted rotors and long lasting pad I.E. Pagid yellow. Wallett will barely know the difference. Buy scrub tires easily. Pagid yellow last a whole season (8 events) on a 3700 w/ driver TT going 160+ into 10a at road atlanta all year, plus CMP, Barber and VIR which are all hard on brakes. 2 sets of Porsche cross drilled rotors (front only).
The actual difference is much smaller than the perceived one. If one can't afford a couple sets of pads and a couple of set of rotors for a season, that person has picked the wrong hobby.
I'm not saying less weight isn't beneficial. But declaring a car not track worthy based on 3800 lbs or so curb weight is inaccurate.

The Z28 has 505 hp and weighs 3,837lbs (no A/C). The new Z06 has 638hp and weighs 3,524lbs (coupe) 3,582bs (convertible). The new Hellcat has 707hp and weighs an astonishing 4,560lbs !! The new aluminum bodies F-150 starts at 4,154lbs. For comparisons sake, my 80 928 LS3 build has 550hp and weighs 3,083lbs (full interior, big sound system & A/C) Looking forward to some track days to see how she does against some of these heavyweights.
