There's another option. Paint them white, aka the 997 gt3 4.0 rs, and add grey/black racing stripes. Then the car will stand out compared to all the usual strandard, black, and silver wheel combos.
I've been thinking of doing this but can't decide whether I like it better than stock. Played around with some photoshop to try and get an idea but it didn't help. I've got the Martini Stripes going on mine, happy to throw it out there for thoughts:
Still leaning towards the stock rims at this stage.
Thanks for all the input. Although this has confirmed that my indecision is shared .
I've narrowed down to the first two cars /options. Either standard wheels with pdls, or black wheels with black pdls. Anyone with pics keep them coming, that helps.
I ordered White with Silver wheels
Hate black wheels and std looks like brake dust grey
However I believe it's your car and your money, get what you want
If you're ok with maintenance (I.e. Wheel cleaning) white with white wheels and some form of decals is the best IMHO. I'm doing this with my track car and just accept that they'll be a pain to keep clean, but won't look too bad with the brake dust. Otherwise I would stick to standard....
But as Macca pointed out in a post somewhere, the standard finish does chip easily, I'm not sure if black or silver is better from that perspective.

Plastidip the wheels black and your finish should have some form of protection.. Not curb scraping ability by any means, but I found that the finish on my BMW's forged wheels was as new after 30k miles, and after removing the plastidip.
