Default PCNA to auction 30+ '14 GT3's to dealers....

Anyone aware of the details?

My dealer said that 38 2014 GT3's will be auctioned to dealers...most likely to go for a premium. I would assume that a lot of dealers will be ringing around to see if they can rope in customers prior to the auction. I think the auction is on the 18th...not sure though.

Why would they go for a premium when '15 allocations are available at sticker or a little below? Sounds like the usual hype to me.

I think these cars will be buy back cars and will have branded titles. Be interesting to see what they bring.

If I was not already locked in on a new 2015, I would consider one with a branded title for about 75k.

I have heard they will go for list plus. Nothing wrong with the cars but they can't be financed or CPO'd. Not a problem if you are writing a check, but you will have to find a check writer to sell it to.

They say that there is an "*** for every seat". For my *** to fit in a year old used GT3 with a branded title it is going to have be a helluva lot less than I can buy a new one for.

I suspect the people who will scoop these up will not be active Rennlist members unless there is a significant discount. I wold not buy one unless it was 20% or more off MSRP.

No way would these be sold for 20% off. Someone will buy them, maybe at a small discount, but I doubt it would be much. And why wouldn't you be able to finance the car? It is a car and it provides collateral.

The second sentence contradicts the first. Given the recent flood of '15 allocations (some of them going for less than MSRP), these cars would have to go for a significant discount from MSRP in order to sell. I'm sure the dealers will be aware of this as they bid in the auction.

Do we know for certain that the titles on these cars will be tainted?? If they are being sold to the Dealers and then to the consumer does that qualify? Has any one found out this for certain?

If so - this may be plain freakin stupid for PCNA to do this. They can tank not only the 2014 cars but also the 2015 values.

And the RS may be out soon.

The value of these is getting it now versus next year. To some, $10k is easy to spend to have a toy 4 to 6 months earlier. Look at all the 458's that were sold in the first three years. Just like the i8's will very soon. Someone paid over $700K to be the first guy in the US.

That too. Wouldn't be surprised if a low option auctioned (branded) '14 gt3 could be had for close to (or even under) $100k come next summer.
