Wow!-Very impressive 991 GT3 vs 997.2 GT3 comparo!

The PDK and LC will help the ET but it would be marginal on the MPH down the quarter. A good driver in a manual will be a tad slower on the ET but pretty close on the mph when racing an auto or pdk car. I have some pretty extensive drag racing history running a best of 8.3@178 in my street car with a stock manual transmission at 3350lbs plus driver.

Makes sense... I just think the margin of "victory" is less than half without launch control but I could be wrong... She obviously can drive so maybe it more apples to apples than I think it is

Most of the 997.2 RS's like hers I've seen run the quarter in 11.8-12.0 at 118-120mph. The highest mph I've seen out of an RS 4.0 is 122mph so even though the 991GT3 is rated at 25hp less than the 4.0 and weight more they are slightly faster in a straight line and quicker down the quarter mile. The new GT3 is definitely underrated in the HP department.

I took my 991 GT3 to the drag strip. Ran 11.30@124.9mph . My previous car was the 997.2 GT3 RS.
I never took the RS to the drag strip but it felt slow in comparison to my 991.

The RS is no slouch, I'm just happy 991 is quite more healthy on power.

She did say her car was a 132 pounts lighter or so than the 991
pounts is german for Pounds.
She could also have mentioned that the RS has about a 140lb weight advantage over the GT3

Great input ToyGuy.
Frankly the 997 GT3, much less the the 4.0, had enough squirt to address my go-fast desires. The true beauty of the 991 GT3 is the chassis. It is amazing.
Can't wait for the ring comparo, especially if she drives the 991 against her car, which runs upgraded suspension. And, one which she drives daily. Should be interesting.

Here's a video from my 8.3@178 pass. This was back in Nov 2008. 100% street car with PS and AC. Almost full weight and bone stock manual 6spd transmission. At one point the car set world records for street cars 0-60 is around 1.4sec and 5.5sec to 143mph.
