+1 for manual. I found PDK-S to be astoundingly fast and lacking drama. Which is why it was quite boring. It's a marvel of technology, and certainly faster. I'd still choose a manual if offered.

It always amazes me when someone says they always drove manuals, and loved them. Will then accept the PDK so easily on one drive.
Just once i'd love to read someone say PDK sucks, and they won't buy a car with a computer shifting for them.
The first trick is to not let the computer do the shifting. Put it in manual mode and it's not that different from driving with a sequential gearbox; in any event you are in control of gear selection, not the computer.
There are big differences between the feel of the PDK box in the C2S you test drove and PDK-S in the GT3. The main reason that people like me who drove manuals for 40 years are taken with PDK-S is that it is really, really, good. Every once in a while I still miss rowing for myself, so it's not a 100% changeover, but overall I think PDK-S was the best choice for this car.
I know. I started some of them a year ago. It doesn't stop me from whining about it.
I think its tough for some people to read about GT3 adopters liking the PDK box. Such opinions don't reinforce folks pre-conceived hate for PDK-S.
Many on this forum who decided to take the plunge with the GT3 predicted that as the cars roll out and get into the hands of real owners, the naysayers will fade and online reviews will focus on the brilliance of the car rather than endless drivel about RWS/PDK/Meztger-lobotomy/20" wheels/centerlocks/buckets/BBQ etc etc.
It's why i'm torn between the Z06 and RS. It would be a no brainer if the RS had a manual. I'm pretty careful before buying a car. I need to get this worked out.
Get the RS. Value should hold up better than Z06 given RS's limited availability and last naturally aspirated motor status. Plus if Porsche does decide to offer a manual RS it'll likely be some type of limited/special edition and demand will be off the charts, which means you'll need some equity with your local dealer to get one.
If all you care about is raw driving experience go buy a Z/28 now.
