Default Just picked up my new GT3!

Hello guys,

I'm new in the Porsche community. I just picked up my new 991 GT3, this is the first Porsche for me. I made a deposit 1 week before the Stop Sale was in order. There was 1 GT3 available and someone got the deal 1 day before me. I cancelled my deposit because there was no answer in part of Porsche for so long that I felt there was a big problem in the horizon. Last week I called because I wanted to place a deposit for 2015 now that the engine problem is fixed and they tell me the 2014 is available again. Now here I am with my new GT3 and all I can say is WOW!!!.

Engine: It revs like a motorcycle, it just loves to be revved. The sound it's just out of this world. I never expect it to sound like that inside the cabin and with the windows down its just like a quick therapy for depression. That metallic sound you get its amazing. Probably the best sound from a stock car I ever heard.

PDK-S: I've driven several DCT from BMW (M5 M6 M3). All I can say is the tuning is beautiful, better in automatic mode than the DCT. The up shifts are probably quicker but I don't feel the difference. The downshift are faster than the DCT in the bimmers. And the tuning in PDK sport is telepathic in nature almost as you would change gear manually.

Brakes: I've got the PCCB installed and they compliment the rims perfectly. The initial bite is amazing and feel is just perfect. The brakes were a surprise for me, the amount of braking power in this car just overpowers the Pilot Cups 2. For the streets the PCCB are just overkill but I think at the end of the day is more of a visual mod than anything else.

Suspension: Its amazing how forgiving the damping is. It feels amazingly planted but its not harsh on uneven pavements. Have to drive more to to get more of the feel.

Interior: I don't even remember the interior. That's how good this car feels. RADIO OFF.

I'll try to hook up a go pro tomorrow for some twisties.

My previous cars: BMW 335i, Corvette C5Z06 C6Z06, Bmw f10 M5, f12 M6 cabrio and 1M.

Congratulations. Glad you were able to find one.

How does the GT3 compare to your C6Z06?

Can't even imagine! Congrats. What brought you to a Porsche/a GT3 specifically?

It's in a different league because the amount of braking, accessible performance and confidence the GT3 gives you transforms the driving experience. In the Z06 the limits were scary, mine was an '08 so it had crappy tires compared to the Cup 2 and it had cams and long tube headers so first gear was useless and also part of second. My Z06 didn't came with carbon ceramics and the new suspension from the Z07 so it felt like a generation behind compared to the GT3. I loved my Z06 that car was indestructible and a great deal of fun but this GT3 is the best sports car I've ever driven.
