Track Day
I am not cancelling! My car has been on the dock in San Diego since March 6. I do not know when I will take delivery....but I will take delivery. I finally spoke with Ian at Porsche this past Friday. It was a good conversation and I am reassured and will relax for the time being. Meanwhile, I will race my 67 Porsche 911S this coming weekend. It is a numbers match car per the COA. (I keep that engine on the shelf and do not race with it). I am wondering what the COA will look like on my GT3. If it doesn't have a footnote then the COA will have lost some integrity!

Just asking and those that say they are keeping the cars and specifically to the cars in port for the last several moths, how are you going to feel when both acid rain and the acid from bird poop has eaten through the clear coat of your paint? The other factor is the leather on the dash with start to shrink sitting in the sun for months? Unless you track your car most of the time you may not care.
It is a small chance I will take delivery for not only the miscommunication I have received from a senior executive at Porsche but any time I ask the answer always comes back NO. Never has it been, let me look into that. Always NO. What kind of service is that? No service at all. Complete disregard to their best customers and one of the senior executives admitted to me they view us as their best customers but in the same sentence said they failed this group.

Well for positive news re-residuals on 991 GT3, in uk a Gen 2 997 3.8RS 2010 with 4k miles is going for $190k via Porsche OPC! For the uk market that will definitely keep 991 resale high.

The thing is there was a stop sale to this so at this point PAG shoulda protect the cars at this point from outside environments. Isn't that just cause because said cars are waiting for engine swaps at the port? They coulda just did makeshift awnings to cover the cars- not that hard to do. Mike

Done with my '14 GT3 with 820 miles. My dealer bought it back plus the options and fees to make me whole plus a significant discount on the 991tts I switched to. If I did not already have some track toys, I might have held out. But I must say, the dealer volunteered this offer; not me and definitely not PAG.
In one MY, the GT3 already faces unbelievable competition such as the Z06 and Nismo GTR. Technology is temporary; and with the loss of a good portion of the 2014 MY, it tells me the GT3 has lost some of the, " best sports car under 150k", advantage. Granted, the GT3 is an unbelievable car. I waited 7 months with anticipation for my GT3 as my wife watched me in front of our desktop, every morning, checking in on the latest and greatest updates--like a little kid. All that excitement died and turned into disappointment. 2014s will have some mud on their face. If you plan to trade every three to five years, my suggestion for Tier C owners is to get a 2015. Or get out like I did and maybe try again.
PAG has decided to open this window up to its own consumers with unsatisfactory updates just short of "outsourced customer support". Hell, the support staff are walking targets getting crapped on by upset owners. I have heard enough, "I'm not sure" comments from these poor souls. **** hits the fan and trickles down; what in the hell is Porsche thinking ? Someone up the food chain, with **** on their face needs to come out and hold a video conference along with an apology.
Not Ian or Linda or whoever the GT3 Connoisseurs we have trying to help us.
I may not have all my facts straight but I think most get the picture. Perception, though not accurate, is a powerful ally or it can bite one in the ***. I'll be watching PAG's (or VW) next step.
Good luck everyone....

From my standpoint the frustration level is growing. What I find particularly offensive is the continued time extensions two weeks here, three weeks there and so on. It is as though there are deliberately parceling out the information to keep us on the hook rather being honest and saying "look you will not see your cars until July/August or whatever."
This is a major concern to me and the approach has alienated most of us. I fear the next call will be " your engine will be completed in (pick a time period) and once completed we will get back to you as to when you can expect the engine to be installed."
The trickle of information and time tables is exasperating.
