I did a similar test as seen in youtube link below while I was a Tracklogic last weekend. This material is unbelievable. Will install after delivery. They quoted $399. Anyone paid less? I want to put it on my .2 as well.

I would like to avoid replacing windshield regardless of deductible.. After couple years I can put a new one if I see wear. Peter said he paid $200.Now I gotta find a installer. Most likely same person that did my clear bra.

I was going to have ClearPlex installed on my windshield but the installer recommended this instead: http://braygroup.com/
Apparently its OEM on Ferrari and Lamborghini. Optically clear and a 2 year warranty. Its more expensive, but the installer has sometimes noticed some orange peel distortion with the ClearPlex.
It will be done Friday, so I will let you guys know how it looks.

While Clearplex is a nice product its not impervious as I've gotten a chip on the ws.
I view it as a consumable.
Any place that does tint or clear bra can do it.

Who are you using for the installation?
Thank you,

I use clearplex on my 997.2 and it is fine. You can tell it is on but it does not interfere with driving, seeing, windshield wipers etc. It is easy to self-install (they have a video on YouTube) but it takes time and care to ensure you get a proper install. I suppose you can do it quicker if you are in the trade but for me I spent almost a full day getting it right and removing air pockets. There have been some people who have had issues but those have been traced back to installation problems, ie not following the instructions precisely and not a defect with the product. They used to offer a Rennlist discount through a group buy but that may no longer be available. I think it is a good product especially if you run on the track.

Any one know a good clearplex installer in Bay Area? Preferably South Bay. I got a kit from the RL classifieds and it is sitting in my garage.

I found few installer by going to clearplex web site, windshield, find dealer near you and typed San Jose.
If you don't find a installer try asking your tint guy. Just show him the video on clearplex web site.

silverrules - When you get it done I would really appreciate you candid opinion on if you can notice it and if the windshield ect all function perfectly.
I usually tint all my windows but leave the windshield alone because perfect site is very important to me.
