They work in tandem. You're set.

Does anyone have an idea of what a possible solution is at this point? We got the upgraded sound package and PCM thinking it was a no-brainer stock option. Would this be as easy as a software upgrade?

You should ask your dealer and have him contact PCNA. It's hard to believe that Porsche would have two completely different PCM units for Bluetooth and non-Bluetooth; seems more likely that it's a module of some kind added to PCM. That said, it will probably be expensive if it's possible.

On the Porsche USA site, under Tequipment available, there's a pricey $900+ mobile phone prep option that can be purchased and installed from your dealer...

Porsche's configurator nows reads BT- Mobile Phone Interface #619, rather than mobile phone prep. They must have corrected this very recently. The mobile phone prep is no longer there.

The people at Porsche who couldn't clarify this from the getgo are quite frankly ********. Unless the car is a cup car, EVERY one of them with PCM should have bluetooth simply included.

It is very strange... why on earth would you say "no" to the free bluetooth. In various dealer inventories I've seen incoming GT3 (all sold orders, presumably) and have been shocked at how many don't have "mobile phone prep" checked.

This alongside the memory seat issue - surprised at the mistakes.

If it wasn't for this foum and you guys my car would have been built w/o 619 option. During the ordering process they kept telling me its not needed but if I insist I can have it. Last week their 1st car was delivered and its w/o the 619 option so he comes up to me and says I did a good job getting the 619 option as his 1st car is w/o one The owner must be P&4%d.

In the end, it also really shows the lack of product knowledge on the part of the vast majority of dealers. Certainly not ALL...but most.

^^ Thanks, Chris. I'm just sorry some folks missed the discussion back then.

I don't think it was a matter of saying no as much as it was that people didn't realize that an obscure option was needed for Bluetooth connectivity. You see the descriptions of PCM which included mention of Bluetooth and you figure everything is fine.

I didn't have 619 checked at first either, but got suspicious about that $0 option and started making phone calls. I finally got feedback through my salesman from PCNA's chief ordering guru in the US and he said the option was required so I posted about it.

I agree with you that Porsche should have made the requirement clear.

Porsche has since corrected the configurator. So, obviously, they know they advertised it inaccurately.
