MIne has remained the same; completion 1/31/14 dealer inventory 4/4/14. So the car is going to sit for almost 9 weeks without it being driven. Maybe that is the reason for a brake-in period?

Does anyone know how to verify that the promised allocations that they're being told are actually legitimate? I've yet to get a build date and have been told it will likely be a Q2 allocation, but am now getting nervous about timing and the credibility of the dealer.

I believe without a commission number, there is no allocation. If its Hennessy, I'd be surprised if they are stringing you along. They have a pretty good reputation. But they should know about their q2 allocations by now (I think).

I placed my deposit around June 1st 2013 w/ Porsche of Arlington at MSRP. I have been told I'm number 1 on the list there and they expect 2-3 car allocations in total. It's a Q2 allocation (where they lock the build in Q2) and it gets built 30-60 days after that. The story keeps changing a bit though and I'm wondering how I can verify there really is a guaranteed allocation.

Can't hurt to ask them for the commission number and see what they say. My dealer showed the commission number as the basis for confirming to me that it was an actual allocation. That was in mid December for a march build.

Get the commission number. No other verification needed.

Allocation slots became available in the US in July. No reason to not have a commission number at this point...

@Nick -- My point is if he were given the first slot since he spoke with them 6/2013, he should have a commission number by now since US dealers were given info on number of and timing of allocation starting in 7/2013. I was given the commission number for my December (now January...) build in July.

I was originally told Feb build (didn't have commission number at that point though) and now have a mid march build...so looks like a 1 month push.

I also was looking forward to knowing another GT silver GT3 in ATL. I hope all works out for you ken!

sgroer & nick: here's the note my dealer emailed me. and, for context, he said that he's been told by Porsche that he will get 2 cars (maybe 3) for the 991 GT3 and that i'm first in line. he said that it's a Q2 allocation, meaning that he hasn't gotten the commission number yet, but will soon. he said this would translate into a summer build date, but with the allocation coming in Q2. does this sound screwy?

"Unfortunately there is no document that Porsche gives for future allocation. Remember, we always discussed quarter 2 allocation. I will also push for the Euro delivery for you as well. Please understand that you are at the top of my list and do not plan on disappointing you."

It seems like there are people on this board with commission numbers for cars being built after July. But maybe I'm wrong. Don't want to make you overly nervous, I am admittedly not an expert on this.

At this point you are not going to get an allocation anywhere else without paying above sticker. Arlington Porsche would probably consider you a single transaction customer. If a better customer wants an allocation you could easily get bumped. I would stick with it but call them once a week.
