I don't know anything about the " ding " insurance, but the wheel and tire is great if you drive in the city a lot. They change your wheel or tire,no question asked if damaged.
My friend owns a 2013 M6 and his car gets either a wheel or tire changed at least once a month for driving in NYC. I told him he's going to bankrupt the insurance company

Daaam... Ok, what aftermarket options do we have? Will 997 spec wheels work? Definitely want something cheaper for the track.

@SamfromTX -- Any deductibles involved or exceptions (curb rash, etc.)?

getting back to wheel choice, which was the title of this thread....

How many of you are getting the option of GT3 rims, painted silver?

I personally like shiny chrome/silver rims on a car. However, I do wash my rims a lot to keep them looking nice and shiny, and it seems that brake dust won't show up as much with the platinum satin color, that are standard the on GT3.

Thoughts?
How many are keeping standard rims? Who is picking rims painted silver and why?

We're going black wheels on our Racing Yellow GT3. May eventually repaint or powder coat satin rather than the factory gloss black.

Anyone planning to work with one of the wheel companies to see if a 19" track wheel can fit?

I was wondering the same thing. I initially went with the painted silver than switched back to the standard. I have yet to see a promotional picture of the 991GT3 with painted silver wheels.

I was at the dealer again changing my build and asked the finance guy about the tire/rim insurance and here is what he said. $1100 is the cost with $5000 max lifetime use & zero deductible. If the tire thread is below the limit you are not covered. He advised against it. I wont be getting this insurance.

Cheers

You are most welcome Mike. BTW, I added the Adaptive seat. Thanks for your advice. I think it was a good move. Also dropped out of LED light and back to blacked out PDL. The dealer had a white 991 with blacked out PDL and it looked so good. I gotta stop going there
