TT's are great cars but the GT3 is just more thrilling to drive, period. For us motorheads the sound of a NA engine at 9kRPM is tough to beat, especially by a TT that sounds like a leaf blower.

When I sold my 996 I tried to buy a turbo... no matter which button I pushed or TT-S, I realized that the GT3 engine has spoiled me forever. I found that I loved that if I had more than a teaspoon of coffee in my cup it would splash out, that nobody could here me on the cell phone, that I had to be more careful in the rain, and leave the Washington ferry at a 35 degree angle. Everything that made it a PITA to drive on the street everyday made it even better suited for me. So I went out and got the 997 GT3.. and the 991 to follow. enjoy you new ride

^ same here. I bought a lovely basalt black 997TT with all the goodies, absolutely gorgeous car. But just not all that exciting to drive in spite of the push from all that torque. I was hitting the ridiculously low rev limiter all the time always expecting the GT3 redline to be there. Plus the sound was leaf blower awful, I bought an expensive aftermarket exhaust for it and it just became a loud leaf blower. Now waiting for the 991 GT3 to arrive and anticipating the 9000 rpm wail

Still only 6750RPM, but I thought the whole point of a TT was that we can eliminate all cats and mufflers? Does not sound like a GT3 cool, but it does not have to sound terrible right?

Meh... Sounds exactly like my BMW 535i wagon with the exhaust on it.. NA cars are only way to go if sound is ever a concern.

Look at the pagani Huayra vs the zonda... ZERO comparison.. The latter is a dream sound, the former a messy mechanical noisemaker. Turbos destroy sound.

Superchargers on the other hand .....
