Default Top Gear testing the GT3 for next season

Saw this tweet of Jeremy Clarkson. They're testing the GT3 along with an Aston for next season. Curious if he still thinks the 911 is rubbish.... Someday he'll have to admit that it's a great car.

Perhaps now that it has an automatic he'll finally be able to keep it on track....

The GT3 plotted against a Vanquish? That's an interesting mix... the latter is twice as expensive, last time I checked?

He liked previous versions of the gt3 generally despite his hatred of all things Porsche... He just tries hard to rubbish them for something to say... He smashed the 997.1 gt3 into a tyre wall and it still cleaned the floor with the Audi r8 whilst bent...

If true, the GT3 will absolutely destroy the Aston on track. Not comparable cars in the least.

Agree, these cars are polar opposites, at least they should be.

Id think a 997.1 GT3 would still beat the newest aston on a road course...but its a cool comparo...

Of course it will but the Aston will be more fun and more beautiful and better sounding and it will win regardless.

Why does Top Gear even have "seasons"? It is just cruelty, plain and simple.

If the people at the BBC had a shred of decency in them they would run Top Gear nightly all year long, every year, like the Evening News.

"Seasons"? Cold, heartless barbarians thought that up.

The new car, with its reduced "911ness", should be right up Clarkson's alley.

Clarkson talks a lot of smack, but when he is actually driving Porsches, especially past GT3s and Turbos, he has raved about them.

The only two I can recall that he dismissed completely were the 997GT2 and the Spyder - and I don't think he even drove the Spyder.

Yes..and whats the logic for praising a turbo - while smashing the GT2..not logic for me..but so many things are not logic at top gear...for me its rather an "amusement to watch"..buying cars on based on their conclusions: you must be insane..
