Unfortunately you're probably right....I just have a hard time believing/accepting it.

It's such an illogical move by Porsche to not offer a choice after all these years.

Why make the manuals for their other products?? Shouldn't every customer be forced to by an automatic in their eyes?

Go back, read/listen to AP's interview ... its not going to happen ... "abandon hope all ye ..."

A more "track focused" RS is only going to (attempt to) "improve" upon the PDK-S (if that is possible) how else is a 991 RS going to match or better the GT3's ring time etc (Mr Fusion + flux capacitor)?

embrace your "flappy paddled" future ... or "keep rubbing the stick.." (like me) in the "coal-fired" 997's and 6's ...

Until I sign a check. Everything is an option, except the car shifting for me.

So, I may be back here.

This settles the RS question. How come we didn't know this? This is an old article.

Still here? (Just kidding...)

Some folks have been saying for months that the RS would be unlikely to have a MT given that, equipped with one, it would be much harder for it to exceed the performance of the GT3. Still, as for settling the question, print predictions like this were all over the map on the GT3 which I suppose is why some still have hope.....

I have not given up hope on either learning left foot braking PDK-S+ in the RS simply because I have never driven a PDK on track. I might be bored to tears, but maybe not.
Hopefully it will offer a manual so I wont have to test drive it.

For now I'm leaning Corvette or CUP or both until the RS arrives.

i really hope RS has pdk and not stick.
things progress.
i raced mt bikes a long time.
i kept some "classics" for short rides, and for "feel". but for all out rides, i go modern.
bridge stone MB1,2, merlin newsboy, seven sola, old custom ritcheys. they are fun, extremely hard to ride compared to today's frames. no one in their right mind rides these things anymore other than when talking about the OLD TIMES.... BUT It's great to ride them once in a while. for real epic rides, i dont ride anything less than 5" now. i see porsche doing the same. i woiuld keep a stick and add some pdk. but that's just me.

^ kinda agree

the pdk genie is out of the bottle

porsche will be in between a rock and a hard place

RS manual will have to have so much lightweight, power, and crazy tweaks to regularly outpace pdk gt3

otoh, it will likely cost an arm and a leg. in normal hands, the mt RS will need all kinds of upgrades to match the pdk gt3. Even in experienced hands, you just can't argue the laptime that PDK delivers. So it will be an impossible situation for porsche.

RS will be PDK. Manual option will be suicide. I'm keeping my 997.1 gt3 for the spirited manual days. But I'm itching to put a deposit down on a 991 RS.

It's going to bring a smile to my face to beat the PDK GT3 with a manual C7 on the track.

Progress be damned.

Now i'm gone.

my guess is that over time the manual option will disappear from the entire model lineup.

lol, true.

My local track has 2 maybe 3 upshifts for my car. Not much point in having PDK.

Vette owners don't need anymore gold chains.

a true cyclist shifts well.
we went from shifting to indext shifting to electronic shifting. NO one use non index shifting anymore as main ride....... just saying....
