Upon driving a 991 S,the first thing I've noticed were the brakes! I thought they were very very good! Now I'm trying to imagine how the 991 GT3 brakes will be with the bigger rotors at the rear...and how they'll perform on the street or track with the new 20 in lighter wheels with less unsprung weight...
Will they be just fine stock for heavy track use?
Any more technical specifics about the rotors, pads, calipers and cooling that you can add?
Here's the portion about the new brakes from the Porsche press release :
'' Further increase in braking power
Quintessentially Porsche: In the new 911 GT3, more dynamic driving performance goes hand in hand with further improvements in braking performance. At the rear axle, larger brake discs of 380 mm diameter are deployed, the ventilation holes of the discs have been redesigned, and cooling was improved by ways of additional brake cooling ducts on the rear axle. To further reduce unsprung weight, the new 911 GT3 offers the option of racing-derived ceramic composite brake discs with friction rings made of cast iron and aluminium pots, just like its predecessor. The two components are still connected by stainless steel pins. ''
BTW, the RS 4.0 was or still is the braking record holder. Since Porsche is claiming that the new GT3 does everything better,I wonder if it'll brake better than the RS 4.0... :

I don't think you have anything to worry about. Current car's brakes are amazingly effective. I have no issue going through a full tank of fuel in a session without brake issues in the slightest... Limiting component on stock system is fluid. Upgrade to SRF or similar and fade is an unlikely issue...
Ps. Stock drilled rotors tend to crack which is normal with track use. Aftermarket rotors will be available before long...

997.2 RS brakes are just okay. They never did make a pad for the things. The pads didn't release cleanly, so threshold braking was even more challenging. The calipers flex, the rotors are heavy and overheat. Not good enough.
Aftermarket (PFC / Movit ) yes, but then, that's not the factory car anyone.
The 991S calipers are visually the same as the Panamera (insanely huge.)
Let's see if the 991 GT3 rears are back to being hot swap pads.
I'm a little concerned that unsprung weight, 20 inch wheels, RWS motors, 410mm rotors even in PCCB, or the 380mm of steels (!) does not all add up to a communicative chassis and steering.
Then again, I take a little gratuitous enjoyment in the prospect of the "entry level" 911 being quicker than the 12C. I think that's going to be hilarious. If all this GT3 does is spank the 12C, I'm going to be smiling.
