Also, no regrets- don't buy the "almost" GT3 and wish you had the real thing later. I still regret not stepping up for a GT3 RS when I bought my GT3, but just a little...

No brainer- C4S with all those options will depreciate much faster than a comparable GT3. GT3 (despite many misgivings here) will be a desirable car and the latest version the most desirable until the next one.

Easier said than done sometimes. I am making the same decision and I think I am going to stick with the C4S +X51. Why? Winter for starters, I want the car to be a year round DD and that is just not what the GT3 is intended to be. Especially in MN where we get real winters. Second, GT3s lack of rust protection, which will be important in a MN winter. I plan on keeping the car for a while. I do not care about resale value or depreciation.

Having owned a DSG GTI stock and with a HPA Stage 3 (race flash) I do not see why the PDK does not feel slower than the DSG
Does the PDK also work like the DSG, where one clutch handles 1,3,5,7 and the other 2,4 and 6 ?
So there is always the next gear ready to go
Because I do not get where the difference between 8ms and 100ms comes from

Presumably that 8ms time is when shifting to a preselected gear, i.e. only toggling the clutch engagement. The sub-100ms time will then come from shifting to a non-preselected gear which involves swapping cogs, e.g. if you're in 4th and the box preselected 5th but you need 3rd.

If the PDK works the same as VW's DSG why did AP not mention both figures for the PDK ?

The times mentioned by AP are for non-preselected gears. Expect the GT3 PDK to offer performance far beyond the VW box.

AP, would love to take your word for it but I'll pass judgement on whether this car deserves the badge if the dealership make one available to trial at future track days...

That makes sense. Honestly, I'd love to see confirmation of that 8ms VW/DSG time. Why would AP make claims for the new Porsche PDK that he knows could be bested by the box used by the rest of the VW group in it's mainline cars? Besides, it seems completely unrealistic not just in comparison to the other automanual shift times shown above, but when evaluated against my own experience owning both a DSG Audi and a PDK Carrera S.

new vid .... shows lots of shifting despite the terrible voiceover... now claims 0-100 is 3.5s (not 3.3)
