Default GT3 deposit in... holding on tight!

Great wealth of information on this board, really enjoyed reading everyone’s comments and reviews! I am pretty new here and just wanted to say hi and begin my waiting journey with you all. Long story short, the 997.2 Targa4S was my last 911 and I have been itching to get back into one since testing the 991S and attending Camp4. To take a break I ordered the new M5 in MT in December 2012. So far I love it and it has been a fantastic daily driver - lots of fun and power (yes I know the sound piping LOL). Now I am finally ready for my "fun order" (Spring 2014 - birthday) and have been going back and forth on a 991S in MT and this new 991 GT3 PDKS.

Against so many grains in my body I pulled the trigger on the GT3 today. There are some many reasons not to buy the GT3; no MT, “rough ride”, big wing (wife doesn’t like), low (scratching everywhere), etc. However from the moment Porsche has released this car I have been addicted to its purpose, looks, and its epic potential. So again the question goes back to why order it? Honestly I want a car like nothing I have ever owned or driven - completely off the wall. Something that when I start almost ushers in a "moment in time" with goose bumps raising my hairs! I remember being in a 458 a few months ago and it was an experience to remember, just sublime. I forgot about everything I was doing whether going fast or slow. The sound, the response, the feeling was magical. If the new 991 GT3 is capable of this then I am electric!

This new 991 GT3 reminds me of my BMW K1300R motorcycle that I had to sell (memories of those fun rides still pass through my mind). The K1300R was a hooligan with crazy power, sound, shifts, and wild out fun. Hoping for the same from the GT3 with the big difference being that I can go to the golf course (bags in the back) and then drop by the track on the way home; bike was usually straight to the track then home.

I have never ever liked “flappy paddle” cars but I am seeing that this one may be a little different, almost seems to mirror my beloved motorbike transmissions. I am hoping that by the time my build slot comes up I will have read enough reviews and seen enough videos to either convince me to proceed. I heard the #s are limited so getting in line while I can. Wish me luck on this crazy journey. Here we go!

Congrats. I already have a C4S ordered, but am really considering changing my order to a GT3.

Easy, with new rear seats in the GT3 there is plenty of space for 2 sets of clubs if you want.

Thank you all again my rep called me, think he is more excited then I am LOL!

Congratulations uhn2000. I see you live in Toronto. May I ask which dealership you went to? Was the process of putting down a deposit for a 991 GT3 straightforward?

^ I moved my deposit over from an RS to a GT3. I put my deposit in with Downtown Porsche, and the process was straightforward. Put in a small deposit which is refundable deposit unless you decide to lock in.
