In a $130-150K car, I'm not too aggrieved by the factory seat selection (if anything, I wonder why there isn't the fan vent cooling option for the Sport Plus ... I have it in the 991S and it works and it's much quieter than the 997.2 vented seats.) If GM and Ferrari can offer a selection of performance seats (presumably all from third party OEMs) then VW has no excuse.

Whether I put some $12K Carrera GT seats in there (not again!) or a Recaro HANS racing shell or a pair of 997.2 GT2 seats (I have a pair, which might be going up in value it seems!) it just doesn't weigh (sorry) into the decision to drive the car.

As for the curb weight of the car, there's several juicy threads here from the 997.1 and 997.2 days when various people (now institutionalized for their insanity) managed to pair down the weight of the GT3 with varying degrees of manic obsession.

I think we've got a couple of months to see what unfolds before US orders start to freeze for production. In that time, we need some details and some missing options. Seat selection is not a deal-breaker, but I agree it's an inexcusable blunder.

I use it every day, otherwise could be a one lip a month deal...

The base price up here in Canada is 148.8 k !!!!
A mere $18.4k more than offered to our US friends to the south...I'd look for a used one in the USA next year.

You've got an RS 4.0 and a 993 Turbo. You don't need another 911 for the rest of your life! You're set, you're at the top of the mountain, there is no higher ground. : )

Are you kidding me. Those cars suck. You can only turn two wheels. You have to shift gears yourself. Probably have some goofy *** race type seats us fat americans can't get out of. I'll bet maybe even coolant hoses are glued in. Ill bet that old 993 is so lightweight it's dangerous in an accident.

Seriously I love your cars.

If you track your car and you care about safety and like the seat to support you then the missing Sport Bucket seats for the USA market is a huge FAIL!

Agreed, I'm okay
I'd be interested in testing the 991 GT3 RS though...I've got an extra slot open in the garage just in case...with the wifeys' okay that is.
We still pay a large premium up here in Canada for our P cars when our currencies are at, or near, par.

I think some P engineers may have been sniffing a little glue when they thought of that coolant connector concept!

Thanks, I'm holding on to what I have !

Although it wasn't there previously, the US configurator is now showing the front axle lift as available.

Has anyone been able to spec radio delete or A/C delete on their respective configurators? Doesn't appear possible on US configurator.

Also, are cup holders now standard?

I've not seen an AC delete. You can choose not to get the $0 PCM/Nav in which case the radio is a 2x25w amp and 4 speakers which can't be deleted AFAIK.

Don't know or care about cupholders; never use them.

But then your questions were facetious, weren't they.....

No ventilated seats on GT3, no option (yet ?) for it either
So at least we get to sweat at the track, not in bucket seats, but sweating nevertheless
