Best Color for the New GT3
#166
Suzy, it seems a little dark for Rhodium but maybe it's just the lighting. Since you have a Rhodium car I'll defer to your judgment.

The GT-Silver is darker than the car in those pictures IMO. But as I said, I'm not 100% sure.
Here are two pictures

I just compared GT Silver vs Rodhium Silver
To me the Rodhium has more depth. The GT Silver looks flat in comparison.
Right now I think the best colors for the 991 GT3 are Rodhium, White and Guards Red.
It'll come down to White vs Rodhium for me unless they start to offer some more interesting colors.

I have a question: Why so little love for Black in this poll? There are a significant number of votes right now and, as of this posting, only 5.66% for black (just over 7% if you include Basalt).
Black is a classic Porsche color and I expect it will look great on the GT3. I didn't order it for reasons that have nothing to do with the appearance of the color itself but I thought a lot of people would have chosen it.

Unfortunately black removes depth on a car and you end up only seeing the outside lines of a design. Because of that I think many prefer to see other colors than black. Myself included.
After owning only black and silver cars myself it was to me quite obvious to choose my new car in black or silver. But the design of the 991 GT3 really make me think over and over again. For me it was something very strange, to end up with a car other than black or grey. I was also afraid that it would draw too much attention from the people I know.(because I always had black or grey cars)
I didn't pick black because of the reason stated above. Grey I didn't choose because it is in my opinion too elegant on a 'trackcar'.
In the end I decided I had to pick the color which I think was best looking on the car and chose something totally different. White!
My advice is to just choose the color you like. It's a GT3! People will notice it anyway. But YOU have to take it home. So YOU should be happy with it!

My C4S is black and I love it. I originally ordered black for the GT3 then changed it to white for 3 reasons: 1-Black won't contrast with all the black accents on the car, which make it stand out. 2-Black shows all rock chips from track use really bad and HD track photos look terrible with all the deris showing in poster size pics. 3-I'm tired of cleaning my car for it to look clean for a couple of hours only. I actually voted black initially.

There is a black C4S in my neighborhood with the black headlights. Stunner!! Yea black hides the details, but it also shows off the curves the best especially the flared rear fenders. The other thing black I like is it makes the car look smaller and tighter something the 991 can use.
Yea, it is a PITA to take care, but the result is often sweet.

To me black fully cleaned waxed and undriven looks fantastic and was my choice of color for 5 our the 6 911's I've owned, as well as various bmws and even an S2000.
But you either really need to be OCD about your car detailing (and have the time) or have someone you trust come by once a week for washes and quick detailing. Otherwise, black looks terrible after two days of driving it. .
Hence Guards Red and White emerge as top choices, with Guards edging out white b/c, in person, guards 'pops' and the wife said she found it silly to spend 150k on a refrigerator.

Perhaps you hadn't heard, but refrigerators now come in red.
