Since I bought my 991.1 GT3 it makes a strange noise when accelerating. It stayed after the engine replacement, survived new taillights, a new sports exhaust valve, a new flywheel. Its ONLY when I push the throttle more than 80% and only between 7XXX-8XXX rpm, but in every gear. If I accelerte slowly its not there.

I thought it could be the throttlebody but it was replaced when I got the new engine.

Any ideas?

 

I've heard a noise exactly like that in a friends 991.2 3RS. We pulled over to strip everything out of the car thinking it was some kind of vibration / harmonic in the interior, but had no luck with it. Not sure if it has gone away or been solved since.

The only time I've ever heard a vibration / rattle like that in my car was when I had my garage door opener touching plastic on the visor.
