Friends,
For the last few years, I've been tracking the mighty 991 Turbo; a car that I've dreamt of since I was 10 years old. It's such a riot wielding Thor's hammer on the race track. Endless amounts of torque and big power. Like walking with a pet Tiger, it's such a blast perpetually driving around in God mode all the time. Alas, it was time for me to return to my high revving NA roots (I had previously tracked an Integra Type R, S2000, and E46 M3) and transition into something more track focused and just picked up a .2 3RS.
While this pushes my boundaries as a reasonable track car, they are instruments to me. I'm not one to cage a car for cars and coffee or put go-fast mods on a car that will never see the track. That said, I'm looking forward to learning about this GT3 and continuing my journey here with everyone.
Welcome! Kind of feel like just moving a few houses down in the same neighborhood, doesn't it? My most recent rotation went from a 991.1 GT3 to a 991.1 Turbo S, and now back to a 991.2 GT3. For some, the GT cars are the ones to keep, and with the engine singing those sweet 9K tunes - it's a definite contrast to the Turbo exhaust noises for sure.
Your thread title made me think you converted a turbo into a 3rs. Came in here for the lulz, congrats though on your purchase. Non-WP looks so good. 991.2 RS maybe high water mark for a usable RS car.

Ahhhh, so you know this journey well! That's a very good analogy; moving a few houses down in the same neighborhood.
It's interesting sitting back in the RS, on one hand it looks the same but on the other hand, it's feels different.
My Turbo had inlets and the full Kline Inconel system which really changed the tone of the car from a vacuum cleaner (wastegate dumping boost) to a more mechanic tone. The RS is somewhat of a banshee which I missed (my Integra R that I tracked in the early 2000's rev'd out to 9,800 RPM).
I'm torn as I like the notes, wouldn't mind more noise, but like the purity of Porsche engineering.

I can see how the title can be interpreted that way! I'm anxious to get this car on the track to see what all the buzz is about. It's looking like March - so close but so far away!
